Farmington, NM - Not many golf courses can boast of a signature hole that plays through a canyon.  That’s what you find at Pinon Hills Golf Course high on a desert mesa in Farmington, New Mexico, in the heart of the Four Corners.  This municipal course is not only very affordable but regularly listed by the golf media as one of the best in the United States.

Golfers heading to cooler climes in the summer, and sunny winter tee times should be in the know about this hidden treasure. Pinon Hills opened to much acclaim in 1998, cleverly and frugally designed by Ken Dye for less than 2 million dollars.  Since then golf fans have traveled long distances to play on the course’s terraced greens, arroyos and sandstone hills.

Non-residents also can make reservations 10 days in advance, for a $10.00 per person early reservation fee. Greens fees for out-of-town players are $41 for 18 holes on weekdays and $47 on weekends.  The club has a Facebook page and offers ongoing updates and specials.
