We have 10 events to showcase as Jolt Worthy for the month of November. These Jolt Worthy Events will help you play, give and learn this month. Click on the title link for the complete event description and details.
- Shipwreck: Grab your matey and stop by the Farmington Museum & Visitor Center to walk to plank into Shipwreck! Pirates and Treasure. This hands on, interactive traveling exhibit includes a robotic arm to pick up treasure, 500 priceless artifacts from recovered famous shipwrecks and more! Admission is $7 adults, $4 children. Open Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm, Saturday 8:00am – 7:00pm through February 2018.
- Holiday Craft Fair & Bonnie Dallas Art Show: Get a head start on your holiday shopping and get to know local senior crafters and artisans at this annual craft fair! Craft fair and art show held at the Bonnie Dallas Senior Center on November 4, 2017 from 8:00am - 2:00pm. Vendors can contact the senior center for information on booth space.
- IGW Cancer Craft Fair: EVENT CANCELED on Novemebr 2, 2017. Craft fair to help you find the perfect gift and support families with children fighting cancer! Admission is $1.00. Event organized by IGW Peds Cancer Foundation.
- Flintknapping & Ancient Hunters: Frank Bowman, a flintknapper who makes stone weapons using the techniques and styles of ancient hunters, will be demonstrating his craft at Riverside Nature Center in Animas Park in Farmington. This is your chance to see a fine demonstration and ask questions. Event will be held on November 4, 2017 from 1:00 - 3:00pm.
- SJC Hospice Charity Bowl Sale: Hand-made, one-of-a-kind ceramic creations and the best soup in town are combined for the annual San Juan College Hospice Charity Bowl Sale. Ceramic bowls made by San Juan College students and staff will be available for purchase at the sale for $10. Each purchased bowl comes with a free fill-up of soup from Mary’s Kitchen at San Juan College. All proceeds from the bowl sale benefit Northwest New Mexico Hospice. The sale will be held Thursday, November 9 and Friday, November 10, 2017 from 9:00am - 6:00pm, in the San Juan College Henderson Fine Arts Center 9000 meeting rooms.
- Military Monday: Golden Corral in Farmington will offer free “thank you” meals to our heroes in the military on this special night. In the past 16 years, Golden Corral Restaurants have served over 5.1 million free "thank you" meals to our heroes in the military and donated over $12.9 million dollars to the Disabled American Veterans organization. Veterans feel that this is a great opportunity to renew old friendships, make new friends and simply enjoy the evening as Golden Corral's special guest on Monday, November 13, 2017 from 5:00 - 9:00pm.
- Stuff the Bus: Take part in a day of sharing and caring and help stuff the bus to assist local families in need this holiday season, by taking part in American General Media’s Stuff the Bus event! American General Media's (AGM) four local radio stations have teamed up for this and will be collecting non-perishable food items for Echo Food Bank to help feed local families in need this holiday season. Event will be held on November 18, 2017 from 10:00am - 3:00pm at Sam's Club in Farmington.
- Turkey Trot: How does a community of outdoor lovers and active families’ kick-start the holiday season? They celebrate with a day of fun, family activities, great food and of course a fun run and walk! The 5K Turkey Trot and 2 mile Gobble Wobble will begin in Downtown Farmington at Orchard Park. Participants come in fun holiday costume making this a fun event to watch and take part in! Children's carnival games, face painting, gobble contest and live music will be ongoing throughout the event. This special event is put on by City of Farmington Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs and will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 9:00am - 1:00pm.
- Holiday Art Walk: Celebrate the holiday season, local artisans and local small businesses at the annual Holiday Art Walk! Go for the inspiration and discover unique gifts as you take part in the Small Business Saturday movement. Event organized by the Downtown Association and sponsored by Farmington Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs on Saturday, November 25, 2017 from 5:00 - 9:00pm.
- Christmas Parade: Jump start the holiday season with Farmington’s annual Christmas parade. Bundle up for this evening parade of lights through Historic Downtown Farmington along Main Street. Parade will begin at 5:45pm. Best place to view the parade is anywhere near the intersection of Main Street and Orchard. Event organized by the Farmington Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 5:45 - 7:45pm.
The FBA consists of local residents, organizations and businesses working together to energize how we live, work, play and stay Farmington. Each month, the FBA meets for the Action Team Meeting and votes on the top upcoming events from the community calendar at www.FarmingtonNM.org. Event organizers interested in endorsement need only submit their event to the calendar.
