Every September, Farmington gears up for one of the most exciting and adrenaline-filled events of the year: 4 Corners 4x4 Week. This seven-day celebration of all things off-road draws enthusiasts from across the region to experience trail rides, vehicle expos, community events, and professional rock-crawling competitions that showcase the heart and soul of the Four Corners’ 4x4 culture. From scenic canyon runs to downtown gatherings and national competitions, it is a unique and memorable way to experience Farmington.

4 Corners 4x4 Week

Whether you’re a longtime off-roading veteran or simply curious about the thrill of the trails, this event invites you to dive into the rugged beauty and welcoming community that make Farmington a hub for outdoor adventure. The week offers a rare opportunity to see top-level competition alongside family-friendly activities, making it an ideal time to visit and enjoy the best of what the region has to offer.

The action begins on Labor Day, September 1, with the always popular 4 Corners Show and Swap. Hosted at the ASM Auto Parts Swap Meet, this event is a great place to track down rare parts, browse one-of-a-kind vehicles, and connect with fellow enthusiasts. A car, truck, and motorcycle show adds to the fun, giving everyone a chance to admire impressive builds and celebrate the off-road lifestyle. This kickoff event brings together local experts and visiting fans.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Hoodoo Glass Fall Crawl Meet and Greet invites drivers and fans to come together over good food and great conversation. From 2 to 6 p.m., participants can sign in for the week’s events, grab a plate of barbecue, and get to know the off-road community. Once the sun sets, the adventure continues with a Night Run through the local backcountry. With headlights on and adrenaline high, this evening trail ride offers a one-of-a-kind way to explore the rugged beauty surrounding Farmington. The night run challenges drivers to navigate trails under the stars, adding an extra layer of excitement to the experience.

Fall Crawl

4x4 Week comes to life Wednesday through Friday during Fall Crawl, a three-day series of guided trail runs through Chokecherry Canyon and Largo Canyon. Each day begins with an early morning driver’s meeting before groups head out on trails that range from scenic and beginner-friendly to highly technical and challenging. On Friday, a special Indian Ruin Run in Largo Canyon adds a cultural and historical twist to the experience, offering a unique look at the region’s past. This blend of adventure and heritage makes the Fall Crawl a truly distinctive experience.

These guided runs are led by experienced local trail leaders who ensure safety and help drivers of all skill levels get the most out of the terrain. Along the way, you’ll have plenty of chances to pause, take photos, and soak in breathtaking views of the high desert landscape. The camaraderie among participants is one of the highlights of the week, with new friendships formed over shared challenges and triumphs on the trail. Evenings are just as exciting as the days. On Wednesday night, the Ultimate Performance UTV BBQ welcomes UTV owners and fans to relax, enjoy tacos, and connect with others in the community.

Thursday marks the debut of the MODS Outdoor Show at the Farmington Civic Center. Open from 3 to 9 p.m. and again on Friday from 3 to 10 p.m., this new event highlights the latest gear and equipment for hiking, biking, camping, and overlanding. It is free to attend and includes both indoor vendors and outdoor vehicle displays. Visitors can explore innovative products, talk directly to manufacturers, and plan their next outdoor adventure with expert advice.

Also on Thursday, the Cliffhangers 4 Wheel Drive Club will host a community barbecue and cornhole tournament. This laid-back evening event combines good food with friendly competition and plenty of opportunities to meet other off-road fans and swap stories from the trail. The cornhole tournament offers a fun way to unwind and test your skills in a relaxed, social setting while enjoying delicious barbecue fare.

Off Road Downtown Takeover

One of the most popular nights of the week is Friday’s Off-Road Downtown Takeover. From 6 to 10 p.m., downtown Farmington transforms into a lively showcase of off-road vehicles and fun. Visitors can enjoy a stereo competition, test their rigs on the Flex Ramp, and take in the sights and sounds of a high-energy street party complete with food, music, and giveaways. The downtown takeover is a unique experience that brings the off-road culture into the heart of the city, giving visitors a chance to see impressive machines up close and enjoy the community vibe. Local restaurants and shops often join the festivities, making it a full evening of entertainment for all ages.

W.E. Rock Grand Nationals

The grand finale of the week takes place Saturday and Sunday during the WERock Grand Nationals. This nationally recognized rock-crawling competition draws elite drivers from across the country to Farmington for two full days of extreme obstacles and technical challenges. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days and is a thrill to watch whether you are new to the sport or a longtime fan. Saturday night also includes the Ultimate Performance UTV SXS ShootOut, an exciting side-by-side competition designed to test both skill and endurance on a course filled with obstacles and rocky terrain. This high-octane showdown is not to be missed by anyone interested in extreme motorsports.
