Event Information
On Saturday, December 14 at 7:00pm, the Civic Winds Jazz Orchestra will bring its own brand of swingin’ holiday cheer to Farmington, NM. The ensemble, an offshoot of the larger Southwest Civic Winds organization, is a fifteen-piece, Ellington style jazz orchestra. They will perform jazz big band renditions of holiday classics including, “Let It Snow!”, “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas”, “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town”, and many more.
The concert will also feature “Women’s Prerogative”, an all-women barbershop vocal ensemble. They will also perform holiday favorites such as, “The 12 Days of Christmas”, “Happy Holiday Season”, and more.
Lead by Artistic Director, Jared Wright, the Civic Winds Jazz Orchestra is the premier jazz ensemble in the Four Corners area and showcases live music from the swing and modern eras of jazz. The Southwest Civic Winds is a non-profit, 501c3, organization and offers opportunities to perform in a 50-piece concert band as well as the jazz orchestra. It provides a cultural resource for those in the local community who seek to play with other musicians and provides high quality supplemental education for many Four Corners regional schools.
Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online or at the door.
