The Navajo Nation is the largest Indian tribe in the United States, with roughly one third living in New Mexico. The majority of the Navajo people live in Arizona, while a small population resides in southern Utah. The Navajo reservation covers more than 27,000 square miles of land throughout Utah, Arizona and New Mexico.

Window Rock, AZ, next to the Arizona/New Mexico border, is the Navajo Nation's capital. The vast beautiful landscape of the Navajo Nation is home to many National Monuments, Tribal Parks and Historical Museums.

The portion of the Navajo Nation in New Mexico is located in the northwest corner of the state. This region of the Navajo Nation contains magnificent land formations, mountains and lakes. There are 16 fishing lakes and hunting for deer, turkey, bear and small game on the Navajo reservation is permitted
