Event Information
August 8 - Event will begin with a community update and planning session from 3-5pm, followed by a fun-filled local food fair in the Civic Center Plaza. The first day event is free but RSVP is required. Participants of the community event will have an opportunity to learn about the regional progress of the local food system, as well as share ideas about the next steps. The local food fair will be filled with informational booths of key players in the local food system movement, as well as area chefs participating in a food cook off challenge. The evening event will wrap up at 8pm, with a drawing for farmers market bucks.
August 9 - Event will begin with registration at 8am in the Civic Center and will conclude after lunch. The $10 event includes a light breakfast and lunch, both featuring local agricultural products. The agenda for the morning workshop will include a keynote speaker, as well as a community action planning session. The final event of the Local Food Summit will be a Northwest New Mexico farm tour from 1-5pm. The farm tour fee is $25 and space is limited.
