Spring Meeting of the Silver San Juan Division National Model Railroad Association. Open to the Public Everyone Welcome!
Event Information
Anyone interested in history, model building and of course trains will enjoy this meeting. Come by for an hour or two or the whole day.
Agenda:
- Clinics: Modelling Techniques, Scratchbuilding, Painting, and Scenery
- Presentations: Updates from the Durango Railroad Historical Society, Friends of the Cumbres and Toltec, and other Railroad News and History.
- From the Workbench: Bring something you are working on. It does not have to be a finished product or anything approaching a ‘perfect’ model. Share a technique or tools that you have tried and liked or did not like. Review of a kit, structure, or rolling stock you have built or modified.
- From the Collection: Bring a railroad related item you have in your collection such as photos, historical items, and models.
- Favorite Train Contest: Bring an engine and at least a few cars. Meeting attendees will vote on their favorite. Winner gets a free subscription to the San Juan Flyer
- Superintendent's Award: A $20 gift certificate will be awarded for the best workbench, collection, or favorite train entries.
- Swap Tables: Swap tables will be available for NMRA members and Flyer subscribers.
- HO Modular Layout: A set of the compact and mobile SSJD 16" HO Modules will be on display. See how modular model railroading works.
- Door Prizes: All attendees are entered for free door prizes!
