Event Information
Come to the first-ever Four Corners Climate Change Conference! Presentations will cover topics such as agricultural sustainability, managing plastic waste, climate change in our own backyard, the disappearance of bee populations, transitioning our energy economy, particulate matter and climate change, methane in the Four Corners, the impact of climate change on the Navajo Nation, solar power installation, and what we can do with all of this to make a difference.
Climate change is one of the most serious issues facing not only the world but our country, our state, and our community. If unaddressed, we risk rapidly escalating natural disasters, drought, forest fires, food shortages, flooding, disease re-emergence, massive population displacements due to famine and the political unrest and conflicts that such disasters precipitate.
We have put together a comprehensive program with the objective of helping all of us learn about the potential risks facing our community and what we can do to help address them.
Presenters will include faculty from San Juan College, New Mexico State University, Fort Lewis College, the San Juan Soil and Water Conservation District, the San Juan Citizens Alliance, Diné C.A.R.E. and Waste Management. We anticipate robust conversations about issues that impact us all.
