Thanks to the Energy Transition Act Displaced Worker Assistance Fund, administered by the New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions, individuals directly or indirectly affected by the San Juan Generating Station closure may qualify for education assistance, including:
- Up to 18 months paid tuition
- Cost of books & supplies
- $2,000 monthly living stipend
- Childcare
- Transportation
- Food & other necessities.
Jill Bishop, Director Center for Student Careers and Employment Supporting Workforce & Career Development, will help you learn about all of the opportunities that San Juan College has to support workforce and student career development. She will be discussing the Energy Transition Act funding, as well as opportunities to partner with San Juan College for internship and apprenticeship placements.
Other presentations will include:
- Jessica Ferrer-Stock, Master of Social Work Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor with Department of Vocational Rehabilitation.
- Janessa Velasquez, Area Manager – San Juan County with New Mexico Workforce Connections.
