Aztec Museum and Pioneer Village Free Museum Day

The Aztec Museum & Pioneer Village will offer free admission and activities on October 10th in conjunction with Aztec Chamber's Fall Festival & Car Show in adjacent Minium Park.

9am
The parade will behin and the 2026-27 Aztec's Six Old Soreheads will be offically "unsacked" and announced at the Chamber's Fall Festival Parade on Historic Downtown Main. Parade begins at 10am.

10am-4pm
Museum and Pioneer Village are free and open for visitors to step back in time!
Kids craft near the One Room School House & other hands-on learning activities.

10am-2pm
The Northwest NM EMCOMM group will be in the Event Shed will all kinds of communications equipment and gizmos for hands-on learning about Morse Code, Ham Radios, and digital communications.  Learn about emergency communications and earn a QSL card for 2-way radio contact!

10am-2pm
Devin Neeley will be providing demonstrations on the vintage printing press in the Print Shop in the Pioneer Village. This is the
Farmington Hustler Press that once provided print materials for much of San Juan County! (The print shop equipment was donated by Norm and Deanie Garrison of Garrison Graphics in Farminton.)

Our "Unspun Tales: Sheep in San Juan County" special exhibit will remain through 2027, however with changes since some items were on loan for this season only. Come visit and learn how important woolies and wool have been to our area's economy. DID YOU KNOW... in 1912, some 40 railcars of wool were shipped out of San Juan County with an estimated value of $140,000! That's $4.8 million in today's money - and that's not fluff!
