

Since 1986, locals and visitors alike have gathered in Farmington to celebrate Independence Day with family-friendly events, community spirit, and the highlight of it all, a breathtaking fireworks display that lights up our high desert sky. Farmington Fireworks
This year’s spectacular Freedom Days fireworks show in Farmington is set for Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 9:25 p.m. It's a local tradition for the display to be set on July 3rd. The display will launch from Sullivan Hill, just west of College Boulevard and 30th Street. What makes this show extra special is the synchronized soundtrack of classic and modern patriotic hits, broadcast live on KWYK 94.9 FM. Tune in early for updates from the hill and enjoy the music as the sky comes alive with color.
Best Places to Watch Farmington Fireworks
Grab your blanket or lawn chair and head to one of these local favorites for the best view. San Juan College offers lots of space and opens its parking lots at 3 p.m., making it a perfect choice for settling in early. The Farmington Public Library is a convenient, central spot with great sightlines, while the Farmington Museum and Visitor Center offers spacious grounds and open views. Animas Valley Mall is another popular option with plenty of parking and space to spread out with family and friends. The display is set from Sullivan Hill, just west of College Boulevard and 30th Street. No matter where you choose, you’re in for an unforgettable view of Farmington’s Fourth of July spirit.

Your Freedom Days Game Plan
Freedom Days is more than just fireworks. It is a full week of family-friendly fun that showcases Farmington’s community spirit. On July 2, families can cool off at the Firecracker Fun Festival at Bisti Bay Waterpark. July 3 brings the big fireworks show over Sullivan Hill, complete with its live music simulcast on KWYK 94.9 FM. The fun keeps going on July 4 with the Gem and Mineral Show at McGee Park, Party in the Park at Brookside Park, the E3 Children’s Museum Ice Cream Social and the glowing Electric Light Parade. The Gem and Mineral Show runs all weekend, and on Saturday night, you can wind down with live music at the Farmington Museum’s Summer Terrace Series.
