Three Rivers Art Center & Gallery will be offering a Silk Dyeing class on Saturday, July 16th from 12:00 - 3:00pm. Students will dye silk scarves using permanent silk dyes and a microwave technique that allows them to go home with their completed silk scarves. There will be one additional silk blank per student for purchase if you want to dye a second scarf during the class (and most students do!).
About the Instructor: Sue Johnson has worked with fiber most of her life. When she discovered the excitement of dyeing and creating her own palettes for her fiber art, another obsession entered her life! She loves to share that passion through her art and in classes where others can ‘catch the bug’! Even if you have never dyed fabric before, you’ll be able to take home a beautiful scarf to use yourself or give as a gift.
Workshop fee: $35.00, all supplies included. Pre-registration and pre-payment are required by July 9th but space is limited so register now! Students should wear old clothes that won’t be ruined if dye gets on them – it’s a messy process. Extra silk blanks will be available for $5 apiece for students who want to dye a second scarf.
Reserve your space: Call 716-7660 or stop in at 123 W. Main St, Wed through Saturday, 10am -6pm.
