Step back in time with a tour of historic Aztec! Begins and ends at Museum. Covers local downtown history including part of Main Street and nearby historic neighborhood. Learn about the history of old Aztec, its buildings and the people who built it. Tours are conducted by Carol Holding, long-time resident of Aztec and Museum volunteer. Her interest in the town’s history sprang from living in an historic house. She taught 4th grade New Mexico history for 20 years in a local elementary school and shared her self-taught passion with her students through walking tours of Aztec.
Please arrive 15 minutes prior. Two tours to choose from at 9:00am & 11:00am. Each tour lasts 75 minutes. Young children should be in strollers. We encourage you to bring sunscreen and water and to wear comfortable walking shoes.
