Reservations required; space is very limited! Tours begin and end at Museum. Covers local downtown history including part of Main Street and nearby historic neighborhood. Learn about the history of old Aztec, its buildings and the people who built it. Please arrive 15 minutes prior; tour lasts 75 minutes. Young children should be in strollers. We encourage you to bring sunscreen and water and to wear comfortable walking shoes. Tour is conducted by Carol Holding, long-time resident of Aztec. Her interest in the town’s history sprang from living in an historic house. She taught 4th grade New Mexico history for 20 years in a local elementary school and shared her self-taught passion with her students through walking tours of Aztec. Cost includes Museum admission and a copy of the Historic Aztec Walking Tour booklet.
