Mark your calendars for October 22, when the San Juan College Silhouette Series presents Nosferatu.
Nosferatu is the very first vampire film and one of the earliest horror films. In this new live score, composers Christopher Smith and Roger Landes experiment musically, as the great F.W. Murnau did when he filmed Nosferatu in 1921. As the film plays, Texas Tech’s Elegant Savages Orchestra and Balkan Ensemble will engage in a series of conducted improvisations, responding in real time to cues and pre-written music. Therefore, this dynamic score is different at every screening and the result is truly unique.
