Museum After Dark

Museum After Dark offers a unique way to experience the museum after hours! Each evening begins with a guided tour of the current exhibition, followed by a Museum Passport activity to uncover fascinating insights and make deeper connections throughout the galleries. Every week features a different hands-on art activity inspired by the season, Southwest culture, local history, or the current exhibition.

October 7 — Foam Paper Quilt
Begin the evening with a guided tour and Museum Passport exploration, then unleash your creativity by designing your own quilt using colorful foam paper in a fun, hands-on activity.

October 21 — Southwest Seed Mosaic
Explore the beauty of the Southwest through seed mosaic art while discovering the unique creativity, culture, and craftsmanship behind this distinctive art form.

October 28 — Halloween Fabric Jack-o'-Lantern
Add a festive twist to your museum experience by creating a Halloween-inspired fabric Jack-o'-Lantern craft to take home.

November 5 — Thanksgiving Corn Husk Doll
Finish the evening by creating a traditional corn husk doll craft to take home, inspired by Thanksgiving traditions.

November 11 — Cardboard Weaving
Try your hand at basic cardboard weaving while exploring simple weaving techniques inspired by traditional textile arts.

November 18 — Beaded Corn Craft
Create a colorful beaded corn craft inspired by the cultural traditions and artistic heritage of the Southwest.

December 2 — Three Rivers Region Art
Learn about the three rivers region of Farmington while creating a 2D art model inspired by local landscapes, waterways, and their cultural significance.

December 9 — Quilt Square
Create your own quilt square while exploring color, pattern, and design and learning about the art and tradition of quilting.

December 16 — Galaxy Ribbon Art
Create your own galaxy with ribbon art, using colorful ribbons to design a vibrant, cosmic-inspired work of art to take home.

December 23 — Holiday Scene
Create a holiday scene through art, using your imagination and creative skills to design a festive work of art inspired by the season.

December 30 — Personalized Rocket
Blast off to the new year by designing your own personalized rocket. Create a fun and imaginative craft that celebrates new adventures and possibilities inspired by the Fierce Planets exhibit.
