Martin Luther King Jr. believed in the power of serving your community. Join others on January 20th, MLK Day, for a wide variety of projects. There’s something for everyone, all abilities and ages. Please visit Sign Up Genius to register for a service project.

Enjoy breakfast and a brief program celebrating the life and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. Following the program, we’ll come together as a community to serve in various projects across the Four Corners. We look forward to having you with us for this meaningful event! Breakfast and check-in for your volunteer service is held at 400 West Apache, Farmington, in the Fellowship Hall of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Below are the available projects for the MLK Day of Service.

2025 MLK Day of Service Projects

  • Boys and Girls Club of Farmington: Assist with creating space for functionality. You will assist with organizing equipment to optimize club space.
  • Aztec Boys and Girls Club: Assist with creating space for functionality. You will assist with organizing equipment to optimize club space.
  • Bloomfield Boys and Girls Club: Assist with creating space for functionality. You will assist with organizing equipment to optimize club space.
  • Tres Rios Habitat for Humanity: Cleaning and sorting in the ReStore or help build ramps for those with special needs. Please bring portable hand tools - i.e. hammers, saws, measuring tapes, screwdrivers, etc.
  • The ARC of San Juan County: Assembling shelving units - or organizing store, hanging clothes, bringing up clothing from downstairs to sales floor. Decorating displays, changing out mannequins, sorting clothing.
  • Childhaven: Organize storage, games, and therapy closet or lean lights, front door, landscape around sign, move filing cabinet, paint dining room at the CASA/Shelter.
  • Family Crisis Center: Cook a meal, relocate gravel from side of the building to the front, or organize and sort items in the food pantry.
  • Connelly House: Come lend a hand painting guest rooms and the common area.
  • Bonnie Dallas Senior Center: Help seniors scan and share photos using your smartphone. Must know how to capture, edit, and send photos via text or email.
  • Beehive House: Play activities with residents - bingo, crafts, visiting, painting nails.
  • Life Care Assisted Living: Play activities with residents - bingo, crafts, visiting, painting nails.
  • Cedar Ridge Inn: Play activities with residents - bingo, crafts, visiting, painting nails.
  • The Bridge: Visiting with residents, games, socializing, bingo and nails.
  • Farmington Animal Shelter: Organizing, sorting and assembling animal toys. Also walking dogs.
  • Bags of Love: You will assemble duffel bags for displaced children and include heartfelt notes to offer encouragement and support.
  • Lord's Pantry Oasis Church: Assembling hygiene kits.
  • Vitalant: Blood donation.
  • San Juan College / SJRMC: Make tray favors (craft projects).
  • Berg Park Clean Up: Help make a difference in our community by joining a Trash Pickup Day at Berg Park! Together, we can keep our city clean, beautiful, and welcoming for everyone to enjoy.
