We are excited to announce that San Juan Medical Foundation’s first Touch a Truck event will be held at the Four Corners Regional Airport, Hangar 9 on Saturday, July 11th from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. will be 60 minutes - horn & siren free for children with special needs or sensitive ears. There will be numerous vehicles of all shapes and sizes, for children of all ages to get close enough to feel, take their picture with, and even set behind the wheel! This will be a kid-focused, family-friendly event for little kids and “grown-up” kids alike.
Touch a Truck gives children the opportunity to experience their favorite vehicles, meet community heroes, help families create fun memories, and raise funds for San Juan Medical Foundation’s Building Wings Pediatric Campaign. San Juan Medical Foundation (SJMF) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is Enhancing the Health and Wellbeing of people in the Four Corners community.
Touch a Truck is a fundraiser for the SJMF Building Wings Pediatric Campaign. All proceeds from the event go towards the relocation and update of the Pediatric Unit at San Juan Regional Medical Center (SJRMC). The current Pediatric Unit lacks private restrooms in each patient room, and the rooms do not offer a comfortable place for parents to sleep while staying with their sick children. SJRMC will relocate the Pediatric Unit from the second floor to the third floor of the hospital. The new Unit will feature 12 updated rooms with kid friendly design and décor, as well as new furniture and state of the art medical equipment. We want to ensure the pediatric patients and their families have the best patient experience possible while being treated at SJRMC.
The Touch a Truck event will feature Big Rigs, Fire & Rescue Trucks, Police Cars and Police Tactical Vehicles, Tractors, Heavy Equipment, Trash Trucks, School Bus, a Limousine, airplanes, helicopters, motorcycles, and lots of other types of vehicles that children find fascinating but may not have the opportunity to experience. We plan to have many fun activities including food trucks, arts and crafts, a waterslide, drone demonstrations & more!
