San Juan County Certified Burner Class

The San Juan County Certified Burner program is designed to improve planning for prescribed burns on private land. This class is ideal for farmers and ranchers, as well as any private land owner that is interested in learning how to burn safely. This one-day class will be led by San Juan County Fire and the NMSU Forest and Fire Specialist. Participants will become a San Juan County Certified burner, and will have a greater understanding of safe burning practices.

Free registration is limited to the first 20 participants

Schedule:

• 8am | registration
• 8:30am - 12pm | Fuels, weather and topography, understanding fire
• Lunch (included with free registration)
• 1pm - 4pm | Application of fire in the landscape, hand-on fire demonstration
