The City of Bloomfield invites you to a Baby Box Blessing on Friday, December 6th from 11:00am-1:00pm at the Bloomfield Fire Department.
Event Information
A reception with light refreshments will begin at 11:00am, followed by the blessing at 12:00pm.
A Safe Haven Baby Box is a climate-controlled device that allows parents to anonymously surrender a newborn in a safe and legal way:
Purpose
Safe Haven Baby Boxes are a safe alternative to abandoning a newborn and are part of state Safe Haven Laws, which exist in all 50 states. The purpose of these laws is to prevent babies from being abandoned in places where they may be harmed.
How they work
Safe Haven Baby Boxes are installed on the exterior wall of a firehouse or hospital. They are equipped with safety features that prompt emergency responders to provide quick assistance.

- Walk away knowing that the child will be picked up in about two minutes
