A Day at the Races Art Exhibit

The show titled, A Day at the Races will feature oil painting of artist Kim Webster. There are two currents in Webster’s recent work – The portrait and the crowd study. Sometimes a portrait will develop from a crowd study, or photographing un-posed people in large groups at parades or outdoor festivals. This allows the artist to capture natural poses.

“With this show, A Day at the Races, I’ve tried to capture the excitement, drama and pageantry of the horse track,” says Webster. “A lot more goes on at the track than people realize. These paintings are a culmination of four years of visits to the San Juan Downs.”

• The Henderson Fine Arts Center Art Gallery is open Monday through Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on Fridays, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
