The exhibit Dibé Bíghaa': The Weaving of T'iis Názbąs will be on display at the Farmington Museum from November 2024 to July 2025. This stunning exhibition features Teec Nos Pos style rugs and celebrates the history, culture, and artisanship of all Diné (Navajo) weaving.

Dibé Bíghaa': The Weaving of T'iis Názbąs, which translates to "sheep's wool" in Navajo explores the historical and cultural significance of weaving in the Diné community. The exhibit features 25 stunning rugs, weaving tools and supplies. Additionally, the exhibit will run alongside a series of interesting programs related to the exhibit, providing a deeper understanding of the weaving process and tradition. 

Exhibit Related Programming 

  • Saturday, December 21, 2024 - Navajo Sash Belt and Tsiiyééł with Irene Scott: A free demonstration and a brief history of the Navajo Sash Belt. No registration is required but space and supplies are limited. Event times are 12:00 to 2:00 pm.
