PLEIN AIR PAINTERS OF THE FOUR CORNERS
Plein Air Painters brave the elements and complete their paintings completely outdoors; this difficult and physically demanding art form is rewarded with breathtakingly beautiful landscapes. The opening reception will be May 14th from 6pm to 8pm. The exhibit will be on display until June 25th at San Juan College’s Henderson Fine Arts Gallery.

XTERRA FOUR CORNERS OFF ROAD TRIATHLON
XTERRA has been recognized as the consummate individual challenge for outdoor adventure athletes, attracting competitors from triathlon, mountain biking, trail running and adventure racing. This XTERRA triathlon is a swim, run, bike course in Farmington, NM. Register online with active.com or with the Farmington Convention & Visitors Bureau.

SUMMER ART WALK
In Historic Downtown Farmington, coordinated by the Farmington Downtown Association, and sponsored by Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs. Come Downtown from 5pm to 9pm and celebrate the summer with art receptions and open houses at many Downtown locations. While you’re downtown to appreciate the art, take some time to enjoy all that Downtown Farmington has to offer. Art Walk maps will be available at any of the participating downtown locations.

CROWNPOINT RUG AUCTION
300-400 hand woven Navajo rugs are auctioned off at this monthly auction sponsored by the Crownpoint Rug Weavers Association. Rug viewing takes place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Auction begins at 7 p.m. Auction held at the Crownpoint Elementary School (72 miles south of Farmington on Hwy. 371)

SHEEP IS LIFE CELEBRATION
This celebration offers a unique experience to attendees, exhibiting the knowledge, work and culture of regional shepherds. There will be many activities for the whole family, sheep and wool shows, lectures and other presentations. All activities will take place at the Navajo Preparatory School – 1220 W. Apache in Farmington.

Come observe Salmon Ruins first solstice observation event. Attendees should be at Salmon Ruins Museum by 7am. From the ruins observe the solstice event and learn about the site, significance of room 82 and the recent fieldwork and discoveries of Larry Baker and Books Marshall.
