12TH ANNUAL FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS HOLIDAY SHOW

Riverside Park, in Aztec, is transformed into a holiday wonderland with lighted sculptures of Santa, gingerbread children, holiday ice skaters, the Grinch and many more. Drive thru the displays or take a carriage ride, park opens at 6 p.m. nightly.

DECEMBER 4
SALMON RUINS HOLIDAY ARTS & CRAFTS FAIR

Salmon Ruins brings together artisans from throughout the Four Corners to display and sell their wares at McGee Park off Hwy. 64, between Farmington and Bloomfield, NM.

DECEMBER 4
SAN JUAN COLLEGE LUMINARIAS

Display illuminates the campus with 50,000 candlelit bags. This is the largest luminaria display of a non-profit entity in New Mexico. San Juan College is located at 4601 College Blvd. in Farmington.

DECEMBER 10
WINTER ART WALK
Come enjoy Historic Downtown Farmington, 5pm to 9pm, and celebrate the holiday lights with art receptions and open houses at many Downtown locations.  While downtown to appreciate the art, take some time to visit all that Downtown Farmington has to offer.  Coordinated by the Farmington Downtown Association, and sponsored by Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Affairs.  Art Walk maps will be available at any of the participating downtown locations.

DECEMBER 10
CROWNPOINT RUG AUCTION

300-400 hand woven Navajo rugs are auctioned off at this monthly auction sponsored by the Crownpoint Rug Weavers Association. Rug viewing takes place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Auction begins at 7 p.m. Auction held at the Crownpoint Elementary School (72 miles south of Farmington on Hwy. 371)

DECEMBER 11
AMERICAN INDIAN ARTS & CRAFTS SALE

An arts and crafts sale presented on the Farmington Indian Center grounds. The sale is open to all vendors and buyers alike. The sale is an opportunity to wrap up holiday shopping or in most cases, get started! The Farmington Indian Center takes pride in offering and inviting the citizens of Farmington and its visitors to share, participate, learn, and preserve its rich cultural heritage by offering a variety of cultural showcases and educational activities and opportunities.

DECEMBER 13
THE MOSCOW BALLET'S GREAT RUSSIAN NUTCRACKER

Now on its 17th annual tour, “The Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker” will visit over 70 cities in the United States and Canada…and Farmington is one of those cities! Escape into the serene beauty of this amazing performance of a holiday favorite! Performance will be held at the Farmington Civic Center.

DECEMBER 18
AUDUBON CHRISTMAS BIRD COUNT
The Riverside Nature Center, in Animas Park off Browning Parkway, will be part of this nationwide project which is an opportunity for volunteers to aid in scientific research which has been carried out for over 100 years.  From 8am – 2pm, spend part or all of the day with other birders counting all the birds, common or rare, abundant or scarce, in their wintering grounds in the Farmington area.  Participants pay a small fee, which helps fund compilation of the census.

DECEMBER 23
NAVAJO NATIVITY

From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Annual living nativity with native Navajo costumes and live animals. Nativity is presented by the children at the Four Corners Home for Children (2102 W. Main, Farmington).
